Whether the space is in a Camp Creek Storytelling advocacy and social media workshop or at a Star Circle Party with Ash Gravity, she is always focused on making room for women and queer people to show up as their authentic selves.
They are a believer in the power of stories. A writer since they were old enough to hold a pen, Ash began sharing her unique perspective as a queer, Iowa farm kid through a high school newspaper at age 15 and through a book blog, English Major’s Junk Food, that they ran while attending the University of Iowa for their B.A. in English and Nonprofit Communications. Her writing and work has been featured in numerous publications.
Ash currently lives with their partner, Marti, in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Together they run Thistle’s Summit, a queer-friendly bed and breakfast featuring garden fresh produce.
Ash sends out a weekly email newsletter called Moon Notes from Ash. If you want to follow along with what they’re writing, reading, and seeing in the stars, subscribe below.
